Dezaki will introduce his feature-length documentary on the “comfort women” issue. This film is not only the most recent and comprehensive account of the "comfort women" issue that has inflamed tensions between Japan and its East Asian neighbors, especially Korea. It is also the first to show how right-wing groups in Japan have collaborated with right-wing and white nationalist American ideologues to create tensions between the Japanese American and Korean American communities around this issue. The comfort women issue has moved from a domestic arena to the international stage.
