"Unreliable at best" is how the self-effacing Long sums up her act in one sentence. It's an immediate apologetic stance for the ramshackle, charmingly ragged nature of this live stand up performance from 2008, called Trying Is Good in reference to her earnest endeavours at providing entertainment in what was only her second written stage show. With that acknowledgement apparent largely from the off it seems strange then that several reviewers, notably Steve Bennett from Chortle, chose to make a point of critiquing the piece as being 'rudderless', 'disjointed', 'lacking cohesion' and 'long winded'. However in Chortle's defence at least.
